Aria found herself partly excited and partly cautious. Brielle was supposed to be pained for her father, yet she was able to be excited for a night out with her. There was something she was missing.

Lucas had come with her. He had been so sweet and attentive to her that she felt seen. "Do you think you'll be able to go out? I don't want you to do anything you don't want to do." He was saying to her now.
