DAISY'S POV

The cries were getting closer, and I could feel the power in each voice. It made my heart race with both excitement and fear.

"We need to go outside," Sarah told us. "The Bridge Children are trying to find each other."

Noah picked up Gabriel, who was now quiet but alert. "Is it safe?"

"Safer than staying inside," Sarah said. "Gabriel needs to connect with the others, or his power will keep growing until it becomes dangerous."

I followed the others outside into the Hidden Valley, holding my arms out in case Noah needed help with Gabriel. Other families were coming out of their houses too, looking confused...
