DAISY'S POV

I sent shadows after the demon, but I was too late. The demon and the council representative disappeared through the portal.

"We have to get out of here," Noah said, trying to stand up despite his wounded shoulder.

But there was nowhere to run. Demons were pouring into the room faster than we could fight them.

The big demon came at me again. This time, my shadow barrier wasn't strong enough.

The demon's claws raked across my chest, leaving deep wounds.

I screamed in pain and fell to the ground.

"Daisy!" Noah shouted.

But he was too weak to help me. The other demons were advancing on him...
