After a clearly eventful day at the manor, the last thing I wanted was Liv welcoming me.

She intentionally waited outside the back door, where she knew I'll be passing into my basement room.

Once she saw me, her eyes darted around, scanning the environment. She disappointedly levelled her gaze on mine.

'Why didn't he follow you here, today?

It took me a while to process she was referring to Jake.

'Not like he's my personal guard or something.'

She humphed. 'Whatever. Like I told you few days before, I need to know about him. Tell me everything you know' she demanded rudely.

'I don't know much about him.'...
