The atmosphere in the room grew weirder by the second. Both men observed intently as the pack nurses did a quick vital check, tests and scanned for injuries that must have been acquired from the punches the girls had landed us earlier.

Phoenix and I really protested on our way here. We tried to make them understand it wasn't necessary. None of them were having it. Jake seemed to be extra dramatic. He had threatened to hang Phoenix on his shoulders and carry her all the way here if she made any protests again.

I was left stunned, wondering if there was any special kind of relationship between them.....
