Gabriel dropped me off at home. He wanted to stay the night with me, but I declined.

I needed a little private space to think things over.

I opened the door to my house and found Lani sitting on the couch waiting for me.

"Angel! It's so good to see you!" She rushed over and hugged me.

I was glad to see her, too. I glanced at the living room and asked her, "Are you the only one home? Where's my brother?"

"Michael ...... Michael went to clean your room. He refused me to do that." Lani's voice suddenly trailed off.
