Servants rushed across the courtyard. They hung silk banners, arranged obsidian stones into a circle, and lit hundreds of lanterns. Nearby, elders gathered around floral arches, chanting rites for a royal union.
They were prepping for a wedding.

I stared down at the chaos, totally numb.
