Velvet’s POV

The private hall was quieter than I expected. Only thirty guests sat at the tables, all dressed elegantly. The lights glimmered softly, reflecting off crystal decorations. I felt a mix of excitement and nervousness as I adjusted my dress, waiting for the ceremony to officially begin.

Selina appeared suddenly, holding Wylder’s hand. She looked calm, but her eyes were disturbed. My stomach twisted. I could tell she had overheard or figured out something from Zavian. She glanced at me, then back at Wylder. “I wanted to see you both after the ceremony,” she said lightly. “Why did you sideline me?”
