Velvet’s POV

The morning arrived way quicker than I had wanted, I woke up with a headache pressing behind my eyes and a heaviness in my chest that felt like a stone lodged under my ribs.

For a long moment, I just lay there, staring at the ceiling, forcing myself not to think about what I had seen, the very sight that had haunted me the whole night.

The exposed nudes did not hurt half as much as his betrayal. He had finally proven to me that his promises were worthless and his feelings made me feeble.

I didn't have time to like my wounds or nurse my broken heart....
