My chest tightened. “I’ll try. But who will keep me warm?”

“Baby it's just a couple of days, wrap yourself in my coat. Some still have my scent on them, let it substitute until I return ok? I will be back soon, baby just wait for me.”

He kissed me again, harder this time, his tongue tangled mine as he sucked my breath away right in front of the servants. I didn’t care. The world could watch. His lips moved against mine with slow, deliberate hunger, like he wanted to brand me before he left.

When he finally pulled away, I was dizzy. My chest heaving.
