The Web Group offices was busy with its usual stream of blank-faced workers on a normal workday. A man walked up to the front desk. "I need to talk to Mr. Web."
The receptionist asked, "Do you have an appointment?"
"No!”
"I'm sorry, sir, but you can't see Mr. Web without one. To set up a meeting, you'll need to get in touch with Mr. Frump or Mr. Web’s secretary. Hey, Bernice! You don't need to make an appointment to see her; she's simply a secretary.” The receptionist's rumor detector went off. "Ms. Green might be busy, but I'll check for you," she said, immediately dialing the internal line.
