"Like brother, like sister—choosing the same way out," Remi said to herself. 

Leon’s body got tense. He wasn't sure if he was scared of what Bernice did or upset at what Remi said. 

Remi broke free from his clutches and walked away. He grabbed her wrist all of a sudden. He pulled her forward with such power that she couldn't stop it. "What are you up to?" 

Remi yelled at him. “Let go.”

The doors of the elevator opened and closed, and the numbers on the screen went up quickly. Remi started to understand. 

Leon pulled her up to the roof without saying a word, his face full of anger....
