Only after I had dealt him a wrecking slap to the back of his head did he see the value in me. It gives me horrors that I had to settle for violence to get work done and even though I have apologized to him for assaulting him and embarrassing him in the presence of his subordinates. It’s the notion behind his silence that gives me the most horrors. It makes me realize that far from him, it’s myself I have embarrassed even more.
