Damon pauses in shock and turns back but can’t even behold his brother’s sight, owing to the pitch darkness of the plains.

“ Asher?” He calls out, without an Iota of fear or intimidation.

“ Damon, walk down here and let’s be on our way. Please.” Asher whispers in fear; not for his own head but for the safety of his brother.

“ Run up here if you can see me. The sky is without a moon.” He purrs, gazing at the sky and only finding lines of sparsely illuminated cloud whose luminosity don’t extend the town below.
