Joseph swallowed his anger and called his assistant.

“Mr. Miller, the company is facing significant financial difficulties. Our funds have been temporarily frozen, and there’s no way to access them.”

The assistant wasted no time explaining the dire situation. With so many critical partnerships lost and Joseph’s absence from the company, things hadn’t gone the way they had hoped.

“How is that even possible?” Joseph’s voice jumped an octave, disbelief flooding his tone.

He had only spent a little time with Melissa, and suddenly, the entire company had fallen apart!

“What about Catherine? Why hasn’t she done anything?” Joseph asked, as if the thought had only just crossed his mind....
