Two days after we arrived back home, we decided to take a walk. The twins were with us, glowing, giggling, and making random objects float as they waddled ahead of us like a pair of magical fireflies. It was subtle, but it hit me then: they were showing their powers more and more, without even realizing it.

I had suggested a hike to a nearby mountain, about an hour outside the city. Normally, I wouldn’t have entertained the idea of hiking up rocky terrain with twin three-year-olds. But these weren’t ordinary kids, and the truth was they needed to practice.
