Everybody was gathered in the living room, their eyes tense and weary.

“Could someone explain what happened while I was gone?!” Adam grumbled in fury and shoved a hand through his hair. Jared stared at him and the way he was raging. He felt the same on the inside, but he knew it would be useless to let himself lose control. “Why is Alpha Stephenson here? Why are Vanessa and Alpha Jones dead in the basement?”
