I slowly opened my eyes, feeling my eyelids heavy, my chest constricted. Breathing had turned into a constant abyss; I didn't have the strength to try. I was exhausted.
When I recognized the place I was in, a chill ran through my body. I looked at my arms: they were hooked to wires.
"What the hell...? What happened to me?" I could only ask myself, my mind still foggy.
A nurse, holding a clipboard, was writing something while checking the monitor that displayed my vital signs. I tried to speak, but my body felt stiff, as if trapped in an invisible cage.
"Nurse... What... what happened to me?"...
