I turned the doorknob and swung the door open with force.

Nothing!

I stuck my head through the door and checked both sides of the hallway to be sure.

Still nothing!

I brought my head back inside and checked every nook and cranny of the room just to be safe. Once I didn't find anything, black retreated and I proceeded to take the seat besides the bed once more.

Immediately I sat down, I felt a sudden chill run down my spine and my head felt hazy for a bit.
