Ace’s tensed voice called me. Tears welled up in my eyes, and with blurry eyes I stepped inside. Lucas’ face was embedded with mix shock and exasperation.

I can’t seem to process what I just heard. Selfishness, risks, work… Those words rang inside my head like a bell. I needed more. It seems like trying to say you’ve known a person even though that person is a complete stranger.
