As Xanne prepares to charge towards me, a deafening voice echoes throughout the room.

"What on earth is happening here?"

At the door, King Jasper and Queen Rhea look at us in disbelief. I am uncertain about how much of the conversation of Xanne and me they overheard, but an expression of outrage contorts the King's features while a look of confusion spreads across the Queen’s face.

“What are you doing here, Cissy?” the Queen asked with concern. "This is where the caretakers of the firstborn stay. What's your reason for being here?"
