"Xanne, he's here, our mate has arrived!"

Jeva, who had incessantly been whining in my mind all morning, now bursts forward. Her statement catches me off guard since she has never acknowledged that Herod is our mate before and also considering the fact that she is too young to recognize him as such. Guess my wolf tends to jump the gun at times.

'What mate, Jeva?' I asked with a hint of annoyance. 'What are you talking about? We're not old enough for that. Besides, Herod is in Human Town, we saw him on television ourselves. He's too busy with his own affairs to bother about us."...
