I got to Nightshade Manor right before 11 p.m. The big mansion stood dark against the night sky.

My heart raced as I walked up to the house. I felt nervous all over. The day's events kept playing in my head like a dream I couldn't forget. I had this feeling that nothing would be the same.

I snuck in through the back door trying not to make noise. The house was so quiet it was spooky. I could hear the old wood making soft noises in the dark.

Using my sharp senses, I stopped and listened trying to spot any signs of life. I couldn't risk getting caught...
