The entrance machine began to beep just then.

Diana hurriedly hid the novel somewhere in between her luggage. The beeping became persistent as she hurried down the stairs.

She completely forgot to change her dress back.

"Hold on, Mom. I am coming!" she shouted by the time the beeping became even more persistent.

She checked the machine, and it showed Hailey's details.

She pressed the button, and the door below pulled open.

Only then did she remember the short and open gown she had on.
