Bry's POV

We found Ava downstairs in a very uncomfortable silence. Her somber face and her tense posture were extremely telling. I have never seen that look on her, even when we threw pretty bad insults her way.

Ray had cut my story about my past earlier to create a distraction for her. She seemed to have taken it hard and we wanted her to first cool down.

Ray resumed his place besides her on the comfy couch. He squeezed her hand slightly, assuring her that he was going to be there the entire time. After she said I could go on with the narration, I did.
