"She's a..." Lucas was halfway through his sentence when he suddenly stopped talking. His small eyes darted around as if he was remembering something.

He immediately stood up and said, "I might have been mistaken. I'll go back to my room and rest."

Lucas got up from the ground as he spoke. His calm demeanour made it seem as if nothing had happened.

But I had known him for many years and I could see through his little thoughts.

The calmer he was, the more it meant that there was something amiss.

"Stay right there." I stopped him.

"Are you hiding something from me?"
