Emma stood by the edge of the woods, leaning against a tall tree and watching as the party came to a close. Her heart was pounding in her chest as she stared at Lucius speaking to Beta Marcus and his wife. They were standing near one of the tents. Emma looked around and noticed that Michelle was nowhere to be seen. In fact, most people had left since the party was already over.
