The sound of a doorbell echoed, causing Jace to place the tray of food on my lap and stand on his feet.

"Seems like we have company, I'll go and see what it's about." Jace walked out the door, and I placed the tray aside, having no real appetite to eat. For some reason, I felt so anxious as though something bad was going to happen.

Not long after, Jace walked in with a tense expression on his face. "Apparently you have a guest, Anastasia."
