I glanced at Cindy, who was clearly attempting to maintain her composure in an attempt to offer the apology. It seemed sort of humorous to me.

"Mrs. Monroe, did you really think you could just waltz in here, apologize, and have me drop the lawsuit after you publicly accused me of assault?" I asked.
