The two officers glanced at one another, and one of them addressed me. "That is something we can't rule out, but we'll just have to see what the investigation yields. At present, the most likely cause is driving under the influence. Did you have any dispute with anyone recently?"

"Okay. We'll look into that possibility. If you think of anything else, let us know," the officer told me.
