Wayne’s eyes widened. He dropped Penelope’s heels to the ground, hurried to Penelope, and snatched her gown from the sand before wrapping it around her.

“What are you doing? Put your dress back on!” he said.

Penelope shoved his hands away with a surprising burst of drunken strength, and the dress slipped from Wayne’s grasp, tumbling back onto the sand.
